FOR GOTHIC & ALTERNATIVE FASHION BRANDS
Gothic clothing manufacturing FAQ
Direct answers for brands planning a private-label collection: what we develop, how to prepare your brief, and what to confirm before sampling and production.
What does Metrodress manufacture?
Metrodress develops private-label gothic and alternative clothing for fashion brands. Categories include dresses and corset-inspired pieces, tops and layers, tailoring and outerwear, skirts, trousers, knitwear and jersey. Design development, pattern and fit, fabric and trim sourcing, sampling and bulk production are discussed against your collection brief.
Do you offer custom private-label production or ready-made wholesale stock?
Our service is custom development and production for your own brand, not a ready-made wholesale catalogue. Share your design direction and specifications, together with any requirements for labels, hangtags and packaging. Feasibility, costs and the production scope are confirmed for your project.
Can you make mesh, lace and corset-inspired clothing?
Mesh and lace dresses, tops, sheer panels and layered pieces can be discussed, alongside materials such as velvet and satin. Tell us about coverage, lining, stretch, hand feel and construction. For corset-inspired garments, clarify decorative or adjustable lacing and any internal support requirements. Specialised structural requirements need a feasibility review. We do not manufacture latex clothing.
What is the minimum order quantity?
The current standard MOQ is shown below. Before planning your order, confirm how it applies to each style, colour and size breakdown, and whether the selected fabric or trims have separate minimums.
STANDARD MOQ: 100 pieces per style
How long does sampling take?
The current typical sampling window is shown below. It is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date. Timing depends on the design, completeness of the brief, material availability and revision requirements. Confirm the sample scope and delivery arrangements before approval.
SAMPLING: Typically 7–10 days
When can bulk production be ready?
Our typical production window is shown below. The bulk schedule is confirmed for the actual project. Agree the order breakdown, material readiness, sample approvals and planned dispatch date before finalising the schedule. Production time and transport time are separate; confirm both against your target launch date.
Typical production days: 30–35
Do I need a complete tech pack before contacting you?
No. Reference images, sketches or artwork can start the discussion. Include your fabric preferences, sample size and key measurements, planned colours and quantities, and target launch date where available. A complete tech pack helps make decisions clearer; we can identify what still needs to be decided before sampling.
How are samples and production quality agreed?
The approved sample is the reference for measurements, colour, workmanship and finish. Record the final specifications, materials and any remaining corrections before production. In-line checks and a final quality review follow the agreed standard. Any specific tests, inspection standards or certification requirements must be confirmed for the project rather than assumed.
What should I confirm when requesting a quotation?
Ask for the garment and material scope, quantity breakdown, sample fees and revision scope, brand labels and packaging, payment terms, production schedule and delivery terms. Confirm which costs are included and how defects or changes will be handled. These terms are agreed for your project; there is no universal online garment price.
