SAMPLING
Typically 7–10 days
Typical production days
30–35

Confirm the quantity breakdown by style, colour and size, and any separate fabric or trim minimums. Sampling depends on brief readiness, materials and revisions. Bulk timing is agreed against material readiness and sample approval; production and transport time are separate.

Start with the silhouette

A fitted bodice, a fluid skirt and an asymmetric hem each create different development questions. Tell us how the dress should sit at the neckline, waist and hip, where the hem should finish, and how the wearer will get into it.

Front and back drawings, a base-size measurement chart and annotated references help separate the essential design features from details that can be adapted during sampling.

Lace, sheer panels and corset-inspired details

Describe where you want transparency and where coverage is essential. Mark lining boundaries, lace motif direction, scalloped edges and panel placement on the drawings. For mesh, include a fabric reference and the intended stretch and hand feel.

For a corset-inspired dress, specify whether lacing is decorative or adjustable and whether internal support is required. The word corset alone does not define construction; specialised structural requirements need a separate feasibility discussion.

Review the dress in movement

Measure the sample against the agreed chart, then review neckline stability, strap placement, closure access and comfort when sitting or walking. Photograph any changes with a clear location and desired result.

Confirm which approvals cover fit, which cover materials and which cover workmanship. Keep the latest comments together so the production reference is unambiguous.

Prepare your first order

Send the style brief, fabric references, colourways, size range, planned quantities and target launch date. Starting MOQ: 100 pieces, subject to confirmation for your style and order breakdown.

The advertised 7–10 day sampling window must be confirmed against brief readiness, materials and revision requirements. Bulk timing and costs are agreed for the actual project. Use the contact form to discuss your gothic dress design.

Questions about your gothic dress project

Can I start without a complete dress tech pack?

Yes. Send sketches or annotated references and explain the intended fit, length and coverage. Include the sample size and key measurements if available. We can discuss what still needs to be decided before a sample is made.

How do we specify lace and sheer panels?

Mark which areas should be sheer and which need lining. Show lace placement, motif direction and any scalloped edges on front and back views. Review coverage with the intended underlayer during sampling, rather than relying on a reference photograph alone.

Can a dress include corset-inspired details?

Discuss decorative or adjustable lacing, fitted panels and any internal support separately. Corset-inspired styling does not automatically mean a structural corset. Specialised support requirements need a feasibility review before sampling.
